Welcome to Trinity Methodist and The United Reformed Church, Porthcawl.
We hope you find our website informative and helpful.
We are a friendly community church which holds many local events and weekly meetings of groups as well as regular church services on Sundays. We have very active Support groups within the church including Action for Children and Trinity care and support for carers and young people with learning difficulties. We also support Traidcraft and are proud to be known as a Fairtrade Church and use fairly traded produce in all events.
There are 10.30 am and 6 pm services every Sunday.
Tea and coffee are served after the 10.30 service in the hall.
Communion is held on the first Sunday of the month at 10.30am and the second Sunday of the month at 6pm.
There is also an 8am Communion service on the third Sunday of each month.
Junior church is held during Sunday morning worship and a special All Ages Family service is held on the second Sunday of the month.
Further to the statements from The Methodist Church, The United Reformed Church and The Baptist Church coupled with my earlier consultations with yourselves: it is with regret that I have to announce that worship services in all our eight Churches in the Bridgend United Area are suspended for the time being in line with Government, NHS and Scientific guidance following the outbreak of corona virus pandemic in the UK.
Thank you for your responses to my earlier e-mail and I appreciate the suggestions that you are making on how we can still worship in our own homes and keep in touch with each other during this difficult time. I shall keep in touch with you all providing further details and share some of your wonderful suggestions that you have made with everyone.
Stay safe and continue to uphold each other in prayer.
Blessings and love,
Messy Church has been cancelled until further notice due to the CORONAVIRUS pandemic.
The situation will be reassessed in July but will not recommence until it is deemed safe to do so.
We usually have stories, music, games and arts and crafts. The children also assist in making a meal. All families are welcome and the session is suitable for children under 12 including a toddler/baby area. This is a free event for all the community of Porthcawl. The February session was based on the theme of Noah's Arc and was great fun for all the children. They also made shortbread biscuits and had a talk and film about guide dogs.
Please see our What's on page for further detail

THIS IS A TIME OF GREAT ANXIETY AND HARDSHIP FOR EVERYBODY. WE CAN USE THIS TIME TO REFLECT AND PRAY. BETTER TIMES WILL COME AND UNTIL THEN WE CAN DO OUR BEST TO SUPPORT OTHERS AND COMMUNICATE WHILE STAYING SAFELY AT HOME.
WE ARE CREATING AN AUDIO SERVICE EVERY WEEK WHICH CAN BE SENT OUT VIA EMAIL. MIKE, OUR ORGANIST CHOOSES APPROPRIATE MUSIC AND HYMNS WITH IRENE READING BIBLE PASSAGES AND LEADING PRAYERS. THERE IS ALSO A SERMON BY OUR MINISTER, TEDDY. IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY RECEIVING A COPY OF THE SERVICE PLEASE CONTACT VIA EMAIL OR PHONE AND WE CAN EMAIL YOU A COPY.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU BACK TO OUR CHURCH WHEN IT IS SAFE TO RESUME SERVICES.
The Daily Devotions team plan to offer an alternative form of Sunday Worship in the light of the suspension of usual Sunday Services. Here is an excerpt from their article with details of how to access the services.
Over the weekend I started to plan to offer Sunday services via the Daily Devotions email list. I'm pleased to say that I had lots of offers of help and from this Sunday we will send out, at 10am, a service in both written and audio format. This will have the feel of a service on the radio in our style with well known URC people leading worship. There will be prayers and hymns to join in with as we pray together. There will also be, from time to time, a chance to share bread and wine together - the first such opportunity will be on Easter Sunday.
- please ask anyone in your church who has email and would like to avail themselves of this form of worship to sign up to receive the Devotions Emails. They simply need to go to devotions.urc.org.uk
